| The Mid-West Safety Team has evolved into one of the top racing safety teams in the country today. The team presently supports the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series, when possible. In addition, the team also supports events sanctioned by other organizations throughout the Mid-West including events at the "Milwaukee Mile". Between it's members, the team has over 60 years of experience in racetrack and extrication equipment, having performed over 100 driver extrications. In 2000 alone, the team supported 100 plus events with 3 different crews, all at the same time. All of these shows are done for the love of the sport of auto racing by each member. The team is fully equipped with specially outfitted ATVs to expedite their response to a crash scene with complete radio communication. Sponsored by Mid-West Underground, Wagner's St. Martins Inn and Bumper to Bumper. Many teams breath a sigh of relief simply knowing that the Mid-West Safety team is on hand for their needs, should it arise. |

Each Season, the Mid-West Safety Team sponsors the "Hard Luck"
Award at the annual Interstate Racing Association's Award Banquet. The
award is presented to the driver who gets upside down the most during the
season. While not necessarily encouraging accidents, the team puts
the cash award up because of the accidents, knowing all to well the enormous
expenses involved in modern sprint car racing.
Past Recipients include:
- Gregg Dayney (1999)
- Raymond Hensley (2000)
- Charley Osborn (2001)
- Billy Warren (2002)
